Chicken

Chicken Barbeque that I learned in 4-H over 30 years ago.

Below is the recipe:

 

Tennessee Barbeque Chicken

3 Chickens, cut in half

1 cup cider vinegar

1/2 cup oil

2 tablespoons salt

4 teaspoons Franks Red Sauce

5 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

 

Place......chickens, skin side up, on grill 6 inches from heat source.

Blend......remaining ingredients in bowl.

Cook......chickens for 1 1/2 hours, turning and basting with sauce every 5 minutes.

Yields.....6 servings.

The recipe can be multiplied for whatever size crowd is expected.

Harry's Championship Chicken

Cut birds in half....add your favorite bbq rub to chicken and allow it to marinate for 8-12 hours. 

Prepare your smoker for 200 degrees.  Smoke the chicken for 4 - 5 hours.  After smoking, prepare a charcoal or wood fire on a grill.  Put chickens on the grill and baste w/ the above sauce every 3-5 minutes, turning frequently.  When internal temperature of chicken is 180 degrees, serve. 

Leftover chicken may be warmed in oven the next day wrapped in aluminum foil.  Just add a tablespoon of your favorite bbq sauce for moisture to the chicken prior to wrapping in foil.
